ATLANTA /Christian News Wire/ — A husband and wife musical duo from Sierra Vista, Arizona called Ananias, has won the Gospel Music Channel television network’s inaugural Indie Spotlight contest for independent musicians.
Adam DeCuir, 25 and Jessica DeCuir, 24 comprise Ananias and their original composition “Through The Storm” won the contest. Ananias will be featured on GMC, receive the chance to record with Integrity Music, the world’s largest independent Christian music label, and receive $5000 in music gear from Fender Musical Instruments, among other prizes as the winners.
Hundreds of solo artists and groups representing all styles of Christian/Gospel music entered the new GMC contest by submitting either a video or mp3 of their original music or a cover of a public domain song to indie.gospelmusicchannel.com. 15 Finalists — which included a wide range of genres including Christian Rock, Praise and Worship, Traditional Gospel, Hip Hop Gospel, Gospel Saxophone, Christian Contemporary by combinations, soloists, duet, bands and ensembles — were selected by nearly 50,000 votes and featured on GospelMusicChannel.com, while also receiving written feedback on their entry from the panel of judges from Integrity Music and Gospel Music Channel.
